The City of Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland and the northenmost capital city in the world. The Reykjavik Capital Area has just under 200 000 inhabitants, about 60% of the total Icelandic population of 300 000.

The United Nations Environmental Programme is the UN voice for the environment. The International Green Purchasing Network (IGPN) is an organisation which promotes Green Purchasing around the globe by coordinating those who take the initiative in implementing Green Purchasing toward sustainable consumption and production. The network consists of international organisations, local authorities and NGOs.

The Responsible Purchasing Network (RPN) is a US based national network of procurement-related professionals dedicated to socially responsible and environmentally sustainable purchasing, officially founded in 2005. With a vision of promotion of best practices, efficiency and purchasing it aims to maximise environmental stewardship, protect human health, and support local and global sustainability

ITC International Labour Organisation is committed to assist countries in their social and economic development, so to foster certain world labour standards. The ITC is currently running more than 450 programmes and projects for a total of around 11,000 people from over 180 countries each year.
